I can't believe that it is already December. I'm sorry, I know everyone is saying that and we say it every year, but it is TRUE!
As always I had lots of grand plans to get so much done in advance but it just didn't happen. I'm having to let go of things and that is ok. *breathe in, breathe out* ahhh, peace.
With that is mind, here is my Advent Calendar. My goal was simple. Me and Luke made it together. No sewing, stamping, hot gluing. Just simple paper, staples, marker, scissors.
- take a Christmas picture
- hot chocolate and stir with candy canes
- watch Elf
- make snowflakes and hang them around the house
- make an ornimant for the tree (we'll do salt dough)
- call the Grandmas and sing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas"
- color a Christmas picture
- set-up the nativity
- decorate a gingerbread house (picked-up at Trader Joes)
- make a Christmas treat
- buy a Christmas present for someone in need
- wrap Christmas presents
- make a special Christmas card and mail
- watch "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (cartoon version) and I made green rice krispy treats
- read the real Christmas story
- sleep in front of the Christmas tree
- take Christmas treats to a friend
I didn't even measure!
The paper I used was from our big roll of brown paper I got from Lowe's for $8. Luke and I cut strips, I wrote a little Christmas activity on one side and we made a chain with the writing on the inside.
