The kids and I did a fun craft together to decorate the house with some Valentine's hearts. I have 3 kids: MissE (girl,11), Bouncer (boy, 6), and Nor (boy,2). We have a large age range with our kids and it can be difficult to do a craft that will interest all 3 and that all three will be able to participate in. Marble painting is one of those things that the 2 year old can do, it's messy enough and fast enough for the 6 year old, and the 11 year old can get creative enough that she enjoys doing it.
Sadly, I did not take any pictures of us actually doing the craft. Still have not adapted to the document everything to share. But if you need instructions on marble painting here is a great link: teachpreschool.org. I didn't use tempra paint we used the cheap acrylic paints from the craft store. Lots of fun colors and marble painting only takes a few drops of each color. After they were dry we cut out hearts and hung (hanged?) them all over the house with the blue painters tape so not to hurt our walls.
I have a long blank wall in our main room and it looked a little bare so I cut hearts out of scrapbook paper and out of our marble paper leftovers. I didn't use a pattern, just free hand, and sewed them all together on my sewing machine and made a cute garland.
Fun, easy and festive!
